Terms and Conditions

Ordering

What you are buying

The Service is custom academic writing, editing, proofreading and related help, carried out by freelance Writers and delivered electronically. Whatever the Order, the Paper is a model for research and study, a reference for work you produce yourself. How you use it is your decision, and following the rules of your school, college or university is your responsibility. We are not responsible for the grades you receive or for the way the Paper is used. The Service is delivered “as is”, within the limits these Terms set out.

Your account

To use the Service you must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live. Keep your login details private. You are responsible for everything done under your Account, and each person may hold only one. Give us contact details that work. A valid email address and a phone number are required, so Support can reach you quickly when a question about your Order cannot wait.

Placing an Order

Write instructions a stranger could follow, and attach everything the Writer needs. You choose the academic level, the deadline and the paper type. If one of them is wrong, tell Support at once, because the Writer works to the level that was set at the moment they were assigned. Once a Writer is assigned, any change that goes beyond your original instructions is an Editing Request and is charged as an extra.

We may refuse an Order, or ask you to resubmit it, when its details do not match its description. A dissertation chapter ordered as a one-page essay is one example. Correcting the details may change the price.

Sources and timing

The Writer may use any relevant source unless you name the ones to use or avoid. If the Paper depends on particular sources, send them early, on this schedule.

Deadline you choseSend instructions and all sources within
48 hours to 10 daysthe first 8 hours
12 to 24 hoursthe first hour
Under 12 hoursthe first 20 minutes

Materials that arrive later may move the deadline.

Tracking progress

Your Account shows where each Order stands, for example awaiting payment, in progress, completed, in revision, on hold or canceled. The labels on screen may be worded differently and can change as the system is updated.

Deadlines and delivery

The time you select when ordering is our target for the first delivery, and we work to meet it. If we see a delay coming, we tell you before the deadline, and you may object in writing. A delay you accepted is not a ground for compensation. Lateness you did not accept is handled under Refunds and store credit below.

The finished Paper is uploaded to your Account, and we may also email it to you. Not downloading a delivered Paper is not a ground for a refund. Deadlines apply to the first delivery only. Revisions run on their own timing.

Payment and verification

Paying for an Order

Work starts only after the Order is paid in full. Support may ask for an extra payment, for instance when you need a longer Paper, a higher academic level or a shorter deadline. Pay it promptly. Until it arrives the Order may be delayed, and that delay does not earn compensation.

The price is the one shown on the Website when you order. Prices may change later, but a change applies only to future Orders. Current rates are on the prices page and in the price calculator. The price does not cover charges added on your side, such as your bank’s currency-conversion or international transaction fees, or a tax your country applies to foreign card payments.

Cards and billing

Card payments are handled by third-party payment processors, and we never see your full card number. Depending on the Order, payment may be taken by one of several billing companies.

The name on your card statement may therefore differ from BestEssay.com.

If a payment fails with one processor, we may offer you another. Your bank may also ask you to confirm the payment with 3-D Secure or its own equivalent. Keeping your card and your Account secure is your responsibility. Using someone else’s card without permission is a crime, and we report it.

Discount codes

Apply any code in the order form before paying, because a code cannot be added to an Order that has already been paid. Codes cannot be combined with each other or with other offers unless the offer says they can. The current offers are on the discounts page.

Verification

To fight fraud we may ask you to confirm a payment, for example with a screenshot of our charge in your online banking. Every other transaction on the screen may be hidden. What you send is used only for Verification and is deleted afterwards. If Verification holds up the work, a new deadline is set once it is complete. We may cancel an Order when we suspect fraud or when you do not cooperate with Verification.

Quality and revisions

This section and the next set out how revisions and refunds work in practice.

Free Revisions

Ask within 14 days of the first delivery and the Writer reworks the Paper free of charge to match your original instructions. For dissertations, theses, research proposals, dissertation chapters and other large assignments the window is 30 days. A Revision is a courtesy, and it has to stay within the original instructions. Anything new is an Editing Request, which is paid, or a new Order. After the window closes, Revisions are paid.

Quality Control may decline or limit revision requests that change the original requirements or amount to abuse.

Originality and plagiarism reports

Each Paper is written for its own Order. Writers are freelancers and their work is checked, yet small incidental matches with existing texts can still occur. A plagiarism report is an optional paid add-on, issued once per Order rather than once per Revision. Editing, proofreading and formatting are applied to text you supply, so we do not guarantee that such text is free of plagiarism.

Refunds and store credit

Send every cancellation or refund request in writing, through the Messaging System or by email to support@bestessay.com.

What you can claim

Percentages refer to the price of the Order unless the row says otherwise.

Complaints about quality

Tell us within 72 hours of delivery if the Paper falls short, and give specific reasons with examples from the text. Quality Control reviews the complaint and may ask you for more evidence.

When no refund is due

  • You cancel the Order after it is completed.
  • No request reached us within 72 hours of completion.
  • A quality complaint gives no specific reasons or examples.
  • The Order was late because materials were missing or Support could not reach you.

Papers refunded after delivery

If you get your money back in full, or reverse the payment, once the Paper has been delivered, your licence in the Paper ends, its rights stay with the Company and you may not use it.

When credit expires

Store Credit given as compensation cannot be refunded to your card. It expires once it has gone unused for 365 days from the day it was added.

Communication and privacy

Staying in touch

The Messaging System in your Account is the official channel for each Order. Check it while the Order is open, since Support or the Writer may have a question for you. We may also contact you by email, and by phone or messaging apps if you have given us those contacts.

Drafts and preferred Writers

You can ask for a draft, though on deadlines of 3 to 48 hours we cannot promise one. You can also ask for a preferred Writer. We may decline for quality or reliability reasons, and if we do, we tell you why. If you insist on that Writer anyway, we are not responsible for their quality or lateness.

Service and promotional messages

We email you about your Orders, and from time to time about offers. You can unsubscribe from promotional messages at any time.

Personal data

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data, and the Cookies Use page covers cookies. Card details are processed by the payment processors.

Dispute policy

If something goes wrong, tell Support first, in writing, within 30 days of the problem. Describe what happened and include any evidence you have. We acknowledge a complaint within 5 business days and send our decision within 30 days of receiving it. If direct talks do not resolve it, mediation by a neutral third party may be proposed.

Rights in the Paper

Once the Order is paid in full, the Company licenses the delivered Paper to you: an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to use it for your own study and research. We do not publish it or sell it on.

The Order price is paid for two things at once, the research and preparation that produce the Paper and that licence over it. Until the Order is paid in full, and where a refund or a reversed payment applies, the Paper’s rights remain the Company’s and you hold no licence.

The Company does keep its own copy of the Paper, and uses it only for its records, for answering a claim about the Order and where the law requires, for no longer than the Privacy Policy allows. Nothing else is reserved from your licence.

Liability

For any Order, the most we can owe you is the amount paid for it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any effect on grades or admissions, and lost time.

Governing law

The laws of the country where the Company is registered apply to these Terms. Any claim the dispute policy does not settle goes to the courts of competent jurisdiction there.

Other websites of the Company

Payment for your Order may be taken, and your Order and Account may be serviced, through other websites and payment pages that the Company operates. These Terms apply to the Order wherever it is serviced, and your login works there too.

Changes and general terms

We may change these Terms. Changes are published on this page with a new “last updated” date, shown at the foot, and apply to Orders placed after that date. Letting one breach pass is not a waiver of the next. If a clause is found invalid, the rest of these Terms still stands. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any policy they link, are the entire agreement between you and the Company. If you use the Service from outside the markets it is intended for, you do so on your own initiative and must follow local law.
